whats the point of medical insurance then??

i am an affinity client for about 2 years now and have hardly used their benefits up until a few months ago. I had experienced severe backache and went to my GP Who sent me to a specialist who I had to pay upfront R650. Then the specialist requested that i must go for scans. being my first time using a medical insurance ever i did call them and they said that I can just go into a hospital and my medical insurance will be contacted?assuming that is what happened. Now they refuse to pay for my LSP scan and I am battling to receive my R650 upfront. I only was reimbursed i think for the R388. for the first scan. the results affinity only paying R388 after emails going back and fourth, begging for reimbur*****t and leaving me to pay R 1123.71 including the monthly fee to affinity!!!!!!?? I work in the customer service industry and in a business where we serve clients needs on a daily basis. What bad impression on affinity, My first time and last time ever using them! who ever think oh affinity health is such a good, cheaper convenient medical insurance...people think again, as i have badly experienced, rather pay the extra R300 bucks to use Discovery and get proper assistance and cover!
