Unsettled Claims A AA Debt Collectors

My son got bitten by a dog in our complex last year. I then called Affinity to get authorization to have him go to Montana Netcare to get the relevant treatment. I spoke to a guy named Bobby. Very professional and efficient. He assisted me within an hour and arranged for me to go to the hospital as all the other options we closed. I was inundated with medical invoices that I have forwarded to Affinity. The consultants told me it will be paid within 30 days. I was under the impression this has been done. Only to find an e-mail from a debt collector on Monday, 18.04.2016. I sent the e-mail to all of the consultants and to date have received no response from them. I am very dissatisfied with the treatment received from Affinity and their dealings with customers. I am very concerned about my credit record and have kept a good credit score for many years only for them to have me handed over to a debt collector now. What do I do?
