Took money out of my account without consent!

My experience with Affinity Health, was disatrous from the start.

When I requested application forms to join, they sent me personal information of another member, Mr E Petersen of Kraaifontein. After completing the forms, I was to become a member as of 1 Jan 2017, but had to cancel (before my membership began) as I changed jobs and it was compulsory to join the medical aid of my new company. However, after mailing me acceptance of my cancellation, Affinity Health still went and debited my bank account on the 31st December, for an amount that wasn't even relavant to what my memership payment wouldve been, and after too many mails to them they informed me that my money would be refunded in a "couple of days" nearly two weeks later, and I'm still waiting. I've requested proof of payment, they can't even provide me with this.

Needless to say, their service is pathetic.

If this is how they handle clients admin issues, I would never trust them with my medical needs!!

I want to advise eveyone, rahter pay that little extra for decent services, than find yourselves in the situation I am now...not receiving any service at all.

Regards

Meagan Wessels

Good day Meagan,
Thank you for your patience whilst we investigated this matter.
Please note that based on the findings we would like to confirm that you were advised of the premium amount as well as the activation fee at point of sale which you clearly acknowledged. Once you submitted your cancellation request your policy was cancelled, however, due to the timing of your request the debit order had already been loaded and submitted to the bank and unfortunately once a debit order file has been submitted to the bank it cannot be stopped.
We can also confirm that the above-mentioned amount was refunded to your account on 11 January 2017 [proof of payment has been emailed to you]. Lastly, please note that 5 business days notice applies to Affinity Health when requesting refunds . The refund was requested on the 3rd of January 2017.
We therefore confirm that all processes and procedures were followed with regards to this matter. Please accept our humble apologies for any inconvenience caused in this regard.
