Good morning Juanita
Thank you for raising your concerns with us.
We empathize with the fact that you require to go for surgery, however as explained to you by our Hospital Pre-authorization department, your condition is considered pre-existing as you have sought medical advise within the 90 day period from inception of your policy.
We therefore would like to draw your attention to our policy wording that was couriered to you with your membership pack, whereby the following is stated:
"Pre-Existing Condition means any Dread Disease/Illness for which the Insured Person has already received medical advice and, treatment, or diagnosed within the 90 day waiting period from inception. This includes any signs or symptoms that the Insured may be aware of regardless of seeking medical advice".
Unfortunately all pre-existing conditions carry a 24-month waiting period that is prescribed by our underwriters. These protocols are put in place by our underwriters to protect the risk pool and to ensure that our premiums remain affordable.
Please be assured that we go out of our way to assist and accommodate our members on an ongoing basis with particular regard to their health and well being and do apologize for any inconvenience created.
Kind regards
Affinity Health Management Team.
