Oops , I've been ****med!

With so much dissapointment Ive never realy thought I'd one day come across something that wil make me drive by Peter's place and say...... "Hello-Peter". Until an agent from AFFinity Health (Dental) contacted me telephonically, (dont even know where he got my contact details from) and pitched me during my time of duty about a dental plan, which got me interested and ended up asking a lot of questions, since the guy whom Ive forgot his name, assured me that everything was being recorded.

I joined the plan after being assured that in 3 Months time I'd be able to attend any dentist of my likes, and will be treated for dentures on application after the 3 Months payments. I then called after 3 Months to confirm the promised necessary benefits, but to my suprise was told that acording to (scheme rules) its 12 Months to be exact. After being told and reminded that this was not the medical aid as I was told by the fellow agent, but its an insurance company, and I need to keep paying the R435 premium while waiting for the 12 months to pass so that I qualify for Dentures.

Now it is becoming clear to me that I've been ****** at day light, all the premiums which I even doubt will ever be paid back to me, have been a false hope **** from 25 September 2016 up to 25 December 2016 which led me to a cancelation of contract on the 06 December 2016.

It would be professional of Affinity to do a follow up on the person that contacted me and **** about the services, hence they say all calls are recorded, I'd like to see justice being served, calls beeing traced and result being found as a conclusion. With so much anger in me, I suppose Daily Sun is the next stop , should that not work either, I'd see to it that the matter is escalated as far as getting hawks involed in the subject.

Thank Peter!

Good day Bongani,

Thank you for your patience whilst we investigated this matter. As per your suggestion, the sales call was reviewed and our findings are as follows:

All waiting periods and benefit limits were listed by the sales representative at point of sale on the recorded line and you positively acknowledged each benefit as well as the associated waiting period.

More specifically the sales representative when into detail regarding the denture benefit as you expressed particular interest in it, the representative stated that you would have access to a set of partial plastic dentures after the first year [12 months] and a new set every 4 years thereafter – to which you clearly acknowledged.

Furthermore, a welcome pack containing all your policy documentation was couriered to your work address in October 2016, the policy documentation further reiterates all the benefit limits as well as the waiting periods in writing.

Lastly, you were assisted by one of our customer care consultants who advised you of the 12 month waiting period for dentures on 06-01-17 when you called in to query.

Based on the above findings we can confirm that you were correctly advised of the terms of the policy during each interaction with us and therefore no refund is due in this regard.

Unfortunately, attempts to contact you telephonically have proved unsuccessful, should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to make contact with us and we will gladly assist you.

Kind Regards,

Affinity Dental Management Team

Best regards,
