Not authorising an operation desperately needed
Wish I could give a -5 star. My wife and I are very unhappy with this company and product. We took the comprehensive cover for seniors. Two weeks ago I developed a hernia in my groin with subsequent agonising pain. My doctor (Affinity related) referred me to a specialist surgeon which recommended surgery. I was suppose to be operated on on Monday, but the procedure was not authorised, because according to Affinity, I did not show enough evidence of such a condition. They asked for a doctors report from 2018 - 2019 which had nothing to do with the current situation. I am a farmer and need to be on the go, but now I can't even sneeze or cough with the intestines bulging in my groin. Affinity did not care about the seriousness of this. We have raised complaints with the complaints department and the feedback we received stated that we have not been with them long enough for authorisation. Yet, we have been with them since April last year. Why is there a 3 month waiting period and where does it state that we have to be with them for a certain time period before they will cover an operation? We will now cancel our plan and advise everyone else to do the same.
