Inconsistent and frustrating service
Affinity is the most incosistent service I have ever dealt with. Nothing is ever as they say it is when it comes to getting things done. I called them for an emrgency that concerned my son, this was on our way because I knew I didnt want them to come with nonsense like we didnt get authorisation or whatever. So we called, and we got the authorisation, everything was great. I knew who to speak to at the hospital, the drs helped us, before leaving I signed everything I had to with the hospital to check out. It was not an overnight thing so we were helped and we were at the hospital for less than three hours maybe . Anyway, i checked out, made sure I did everything the Affinity call centre said to do. Then a few weeks later the hospital says Affinity rejected the claim, then i just knew, here we go again AFFINITY, thanks. I called Affinity, the call centre lady said that it makes no sense because she can see we received authorisation for an amount of R2k, and our bill is only R800 so it should be paid. I was advised to email the invoice to their hospital claims address, and this is I did. Buth this is more evidence of the inconsistent service because when your own call centre is confused as to why you not helping people that is paying monthly fees, it makes you as the customer even more frustrated. I emailed hospital claims and after begging for a response now they want me, months after the incident to go back to the hospital (because i have so much time to do this) find the dr, get the dr to complete a form that says what he/she did, and why, fill out a dozen more claims and send that to them....i mean this is rediculous, it feels like some low grade service. I have never have to jump through so much nonsense before as i have to do with Affinity. I have no idea when and how I am supposed to find these ER drs, some of them dont even work there, they just stand in...now i need to look for drs, who does this?????? Affinity is this is a joke...I specifically called them for the A-Z of what i need to do before the going, now all of this, hence me saying so inconsistent and really leaves for a rotten taste in your mouth, you never at peace with Affintiy because you waiting for the next bomb to drop or some Dr sending you bill because Affinity messed something up, or now you need to fill in another doc they they never told you about...i mean, seriously, i never ever experienced this kind of service before. Hopefully, this will be my last year with them because what you may save in monthly fees they get you somewhere else, like this. Affinity, please sort out the bill, I am not going to go running around looking for drs to fill in forms after I called you guys and you did not ask for this before going to the hospital so please sort yourselves out.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us.
Please note that you have two Casualty admissions this year.
The first has a confirmed authorisation, the second was never confirmed as authorised because the Casualty Benefit of R4 000 per year was still be issued to pay for accounts from the first admission.
Please note that a Complaints Officer will be in contact with you to resolve the matter further.
Kind regards
