Done use Affinity Health

Absolutely do not trust them! The sales people appear extremely competent and friendly, until you have a query.

I INQUIRED with affinity in April 2024 (on the 28th), with a man by the name of Gareth. Over our telephone conversations, I explicitly mentioned that I'm making an inquiry and I couldn't confirm the application until I heard back from my husband's HR department regarding their terms of medical cover.

On the 2nd of May, I told Gareth that I could not proceed as my husband could not get out of his existing cover until November 2024. He told me that the cancellation department would contact me. It took 8 days for this to happen and that's after I followed up 3 times.

When I inquired again in November, a man by the name of Lucas was assisting me. I mentioned the previous inquiry with Gareth and we proceeded with the application. 3 days later, lucas called me 'with a courtesy call' to tell me that the immediate cover will not apply. I asked why and he said it was because I app**** with Gareth. I explained that I never followed through with the application, and NO Money went off my account. So I hadn't paid for any services. He said he would call me back. Later that day, Shawnell, a woman from affinity called me with another courtesy call to tell me about the immediate benefits falling away. I explained the same thing. Lucas then called me back. He said he would get the managers to look into it. I waited about a week before I had to follow up to get a calm back. I then spoke with a manager who mentioned that they would give me a week to find other insurance. That Friday, lucas called me and said they would be able to give my kids the immediate benefits, but not me, and that he just needed a manager to approve.

I followed up again later that day, to no avail. Today, Thursday, 19th Dec, Lucas calls me (after I requested a call) to tell me that they can't give the kids the cover unless its other kids.

How does that even make sense?

Affinity claims to have a 31 day cooling off period. It seems that that take forever to respond after they've done the application so that they can let the cooling off period pass. What also doesn't make sense is that it took 8 days for Gareth to get the cancellation to take place, during which time the application had gone in for underwriting. So now, I have to lose benefits because of this. Do not sign up with affinity health. They do not keep to their word and they cause delays deliberately.

I have screenshots of the follow upsl requests and the delays
