Doesn't see my daughter as a dependent

I am busy rejoining Affinity Health of which my daughter was a member as a dependent just over a year ago. She is 19 now and studying through Unisa as I don't want her to study full time because of all the University Violence. Now Affinity doesn't recognize her as a student or as my dependent

This doesn't sound right. My ID is ********** 202089

Good day Mr. Van Der Walt
Thank you raising your concerns with us.
As per our Policy wording, please note that a Dependent child on a policy is defined as a child of a Principal Member under the age of 26 (twenty-six) years who is a full time student at any registered university, technikon or tertiary education institution, registered in terms of any legislation in the Republic of South Africa or such other institution as may be approved in Writing by the Insurer, and who is unmarried.
As you have mentioned, your daughter is studying through UNISA and is not a full time student. As defined in our policy wording, An adult is a member who is 18 years or older, excluding full-time students who are under the age of 26.
Therefore due to the above mentioned, your daughter is required to be on her own policy as the policy holder and not as a dependent. You may however be the premium payer of her policy.
We trust you may find the above in order.
Kind regards,
Affinity Health Management Team.
