Disgrace

I had an awful experience with Affinity Health. I wanted medical aid for myself and my 2 year old daughter during lockdown since we live 6 months in Europe and 6 months in SA and we are alone as my husband is stuck in another country during lockdown. I explained this to the woman doing my application and she spoke via phone to my husband as well who explained that we wanted to be covered in this period especially incase my daughter hurt herself or got sick. I went through the whole application with her signed the docs and she confirmed that we were covered. I have proof of an email I sent her asking if we were covered and she said yes. She got authorisation for payment from my husband so we thought everything was set. Until I got a threatening SMS from Affinity Health (3 months later) saying they can't get hold of me and my application would be cancelled. I contacted the woman who did my application and confronted her about this. She said they couldn't get hold of me so the application was pending. They are the only people in South Africa who could not get through to me. So if "they" could not get hold of me via phone why didn't she send me an email explaining the situation and let me know that I was not covered since she was doing my application). They are DISGRACEFUL! They probably tried once or twice to get hold of me and then left it at that because they don't give a damn about their clients it's all about getting through the working day. They have no compassion, no dignity and are selfish. I'm just sorry I didn't read all the negative reviews before going with them because alot of them confirm this horrible behaviour and they had some nerve threatening to cancel my application (which I didn't even know was in doubt) I told them to cancel it immediately - did they really think I would choose to start over again with them after their disgusting behaviour! They are lucky that my daughter did not have to go to hospital for any reason because I swear i would have taken this further if that was the case. Trust me, shop around before signing up with these guys.

Good Day Angela

Please note that we have received feedback from the Brokerage. In April they did contact you and advised that they need to speak to your husband as he was the premium payer. Due to him not being available, you had advised that he will be in contact. The agent provided you with the number that he could contact. Please note that no call was received. The brokerage tried contacting you multiple times afterwards but to no avail.

May you please let us know if you would still like to be contacted.

Kind Regards

I did the application, if they couldn't speak to my husband they should have let me know what the situation was. If (and I still don't buy it) they couldn't get hold of me via phone they should of sent me an email explaining the situation or an sms (like the last one I received that made me aware of the whole situation). Dont try and turn things around - if you really care and are interested in your clients you make an effort. I stand by my first review.
