Angry and broken mother

My daughter got sick, she's been having bad headaches for a few weeks now,but she was sacred to go to Dr or hospital until today when she woke up fron her afternoon nap,and she said her head is worse than other days, plus moving her eyes are sore, she's only 14 she's been taking painkillers everyday since this started, took her to A private hospital, she was seen at casualty which was approved then after the Dr said get preAuth from your insurance and make them aware she might be admitted which i did,Affinity consultant said administrator of the hospital must contact them, they will see to everything,my daughter was moved to a ward, waiting preAuth which they said they would send, not long I received a call from the hospital administrator saying I must leave the ward and come to admissions because preAuth won't be approved because Affinity needs proof this isnt an existing condition,I fought with the consultant as I was angry because she said I must remove my sick child from the hospital and take her to a state hospital if I cannot provide proof that she's never had this condition before, the casualty Dr at the private hospital actually spoke to the consultant and told her to him this does not look like a pre existing condition, now my child had to be removed from the hospital in zero degrees temperature, until I prove enough proof for all the years since she was small from which ever GP cause at that time we weren't on medical aid or insurance, that she's never had any sort of issues like this before.

Its very upsetting a a mother having to remove your child from a hospital actually out of the hospital bed, into the cold like she's a Dog because the insurance doesnt even trust the words of a Dr that this child's currently illness hasn't been long term hence why they needed to do further investigation.

Im very heartbroken about the service my daughter was giving,a child was given by Affinity health...heartless people to say the least.

Affinity health management team

I appreciate your feedback but I know for sure nothing will be done about my situation, because either way I still have to produce evidence that my daughter hasn't been sick in this past year from 2024 to 20205,To have my daughter removed from a private facility I thought im paying to use,to being told by the consultant I must take my daughter to a government facility,if I wanted to go to a government facility I would of went there,I've been faithfully paying my policy for quiet a while now,But having to have my daughter removed from a hospital bed is next level disrespect for your clients,She's just a child.

Why faithfully take our money, and then after tell us we cant be admitted for sickness,a sudden sickness,an emergency,a serious illness because she's a child.

Before I was that mother who always praised Affinity health because I've never had an issue,I've always got great service but last night I was truly shown a horrible side to Affinity health and with that towards medically treatment for a child, for my child which I thought im paying for,my heart is really sore.

Dear Affinity health clients

Please be advised.

Im sure many of us have taken this health insurance out because we thought we would be getting decent health care for our families,me that being my kids.

My daughter got ill as I have previously stated in my above review,She needed to be admitted for further investigation regarding diagnosis,Authorization for admission was declined,I was emailed a questionnaire in which I needed to take to a Dr,my Family Dr which we didn't have because before I got the insurance we used government facilities,I left my sick daughter at home and ran around today like a mad woman trying to get this questionnaire filled out, because Affinity health wanted proof that my daughter didn't have pre existing conditions relating to this illness when the attending Dr at casualty had said to the consultant last last night that it was not pre existing...my daughter has not been seen to by a Dr for 2 years prior to yesterday when I took her to casualty,so there was no proof I could submit...with that being said

Im paying for a policy for me and my kids that we cannot actually use.
I called all 3 network hospitals In my province, and each hospital charges R30k for admissions,Affinity health only pays R22k for day illness,So the short fall of R8k i would have to pay out my pocket which I don't have
This they do not tell us when we applying for this policy.
People Affinity health will not cover any admission if the Hospitals charge R30k every single private hospital charges the same price, which excludes Dr's fees, and everything else needed.

So which makes this Health insurance practically useless when even admission is impossible.

What exactly are we paying for???

Can Affinity health please enlighten me on this
They also don't cover any overnight observation admissions.

Affinity health what are your clients paying for????
