Affinity hidden agenda regarding payments to doctors

Be careful with this medical aid. A month ago I was telling them how wonderful they are...that all changed. They only pay for 30% to 40% of claims put through. We pay a big amount every month and yet we have paid for more that 98% for everything. ..from medicine to doctors visits. The doctors they want us to use are discusting. The one is set in between a spar and tops, with drunk people hanging around, swearing and the Doctors room is filthy. So when using your own doctors they only pay 40% of it. Some tests they don't pay so make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. I will be cancelling this medical aid because we have paid cash for almost everything and we're paying a monthly fee. Doesn't make sense. Customer service never gets back to you unless you get rude. So now after requesting payment for a ampath invoice I was told they don't cover it. Inv for R211.00 and I've asked them since September 2018 regarding payment. Note they havent paid anything and i pay over R2400 a month, Tebogo Mphahlele only came back to me yesterday after I got upset and rude. She did however apologised but it was too late. Be careful the sales consultant will tell you anything just to sell the medical aid to you. We were never told that they don't pay some of Ampath tests. Thanks for nothing Affinity.

Good day Alida

We're here to help.

To assist you, we wish to remind you that the Pathology Benefit is advised according to the product brochure and policy wording sent to you after the telephonic sale.

We can confirm that you were advised that basic blood tests are covered as referred by a network GP according to the Affinity Health formulary.

It has also been confirmed that you have been assisted in obtaining a network GP, and extended lengths were taken to follow up with you to confirm your approval of the same doctor, after several consultations with out-of-network providers.

Your sentiments are noted accordingly, however please note that at every point at which your query or complaint was received, Affinity Health has been of timeous service, only ever taking the time to make sure you receive the good quality of service you deserve.
