Affinity health refuses admition for a 2 year old boy

Affinity health refuses to assist in a situation due to their own completely unrealistic and quite frankly ridiculous terms - they are refusing to allow admission for my two year old son who has possible rsv virus and a fever of 40. They are throwing their 3 month waiting period at us and kindly advised us to please proceed to a state facility as they are not going to allow admission until the three month waiting period is served....... this after the policy was sold to us with wrongfull information which caused the inception date to start a month later then it should have..... this is the company who claims they put people first....... they certainly do not care about my two year old son.... no - we must pay for medical cover every month but still please use a state facility - i have a better shot at home then what he would have in a state hospital - the conditions there are no secret - that is why we pay for better care - but what do we get???

Good day Jacoline

We appreciate the urgency of the matter, and assure you a Complaints Officer is still in the midst of the resolving the matter further for you.

Please note that the waiting period was fully disclosed to you at point of sale, during which you authorised the terms and conditions.

Furthermore, had the policy incepted one month earlier, the event would have still been within waiting periods.

Kindly note that Affinity Health is a medical insurance, which provides cover after certain waiting periods in order for you to have affordable medical cover.

Kind regards

Dear management - You keep throwing the terms and conditiions at me like that is going to solve anything. This is a matter of a two year old child that needs medical care - you already received two consequetive payments from us without any problems so we are one payment short of three months and you still insist on being technical - you do not care about people at all - that you have made clear.

So even after all of this affinity is still not going to allow admission for my son.... they are still stuck on the 3 month period .... even though.... like i said... they already received two consequetive payments without any problems.... garunteed if the third month payment was made we wouldnt be struggling like this...: i am not sure how much a casualty can do for a two year old child that has already been diagnosed with respatory infection and has possible rsv virus - affinity pre- authed casualty care with no admission- no matter the severity - how much can a casualty help with my son’s condition? Thanks for the casualty pre auth. I will be taking my son to parklands spring casualty as discussed with ur pre auth department.
