Affinity health - empty benefits

I I'm very disappointed in Affinity health. They are very fast to sell you the medical aid policy and they are very fast to take your money every month. I will never ever suggest anyone to go or use affinity health never. I were sick and went to casualties, I had to pay for everything myself. I went to see a doctor for my arm that was painful the Dr send me for x-rays and a sonar. Which again I received an account for and had to pay again. The doctor told me that I would need an operation on my shoulder. I did send an email to affinity's Pre-Authorisation. The next day I got a call from one of the consultants that ask me when did I had the car accident, I were very surprised and ask him what car accident I did not say anything about a car accident 😡 They emailed me papers that the Dr needed to fill in and I did mailed it back. Then they wanted quotations for the hospital and Dr and and. I did get everything and mailed it to them, and 2 days before I had to go for the operation they send me a email to say it's been declined. I think it is bull ****. We as members paid every month and could not use any of the benefits that were promised. They sit behind the desks and collecting people's money for nothing, it's like *****ing money. I feel that they need to refund the members money

Christelle .

Good day Ms Sa****,

Kindly be advised that that a Complaints Officer has attempted to contact you to discuss your concerns and provide clarity on your plan and benefits available.

We can confirm that we have no record of your visit to casualties and have received no claims relating to this incident.  Please be aware that pre-authorisation is required when visiting a casualty facility.

It is important for our members to be aware of all waiting periods applicable to their policies.  Unfortunately, the surgery that you require is related to a pre-existing condition, which carries a 12-month waiting period.

Should you require any further clarification regarding your benefits or waiting periods, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,
Affinity Health Management Team
