Affinity Health Does not CARE for you only your MONEY!!!!!!
We decided to take out a Hospital Plan as we are going on in years, so we also looked around and found Affinity Health, so we got all the information great and now we are on the Hospital Plan. My hubby had an accident and we declared all his injuries - just to be on the safe side of things....., Me on the other hand hardly every goes to the doctor unless it is very serious and I have not been to the doctor in about two years, on the 13th May 2019 I woke up with an incredibly sore and stiff shoulder, thinking maybe I slept at a wrong angle and thinking it would go away, well two days later I had to go to my local GP (he knows if I come into his doors then something is terribly wrong with me.... ) he told me my shoulder was inflamed gave me meds and off I went. once the medication was done, all the pain and stiffness came back.... and the pain was so harsh, I was referred to a sports specialist who did a sona and it was discovered my entire shoulder, back, front and side as well as in the joint I have Calcific Tendinitis.... I asked how this happens, her explanation there is no medical explanation this happens to anyone no matter how old or young a person is. She then referred me to another specialist - and he was shocked to see how badly covered my shoulder is with sacs of calcium, and he just said I require surgery, so he can drain the sacs of calcium and then he needs to s**** the sacs away, as my shoulder is very very bad... The pain is incredible sore , I have not had a decent sleep since the 13th May 2019 as the pain is incredible, I am unable to drive... I run 3 companies and need to be on the road but since the 13th May have lost income due to not been able to make meetings.
Yes I had a tinge or two a couple of years back - no biggy and within a day there was nothing, this I put down to maybe sleeping wrong or maybe a wind but at the time there was NO pain, stiffness nothing and yes I did mention this to the doctor.
So we gather all the information, doctor completes the Affinity Medical History form, and some of the question I must say are very misleading on, and even submitting a full billing history as far back as 2011, 3 times Affinity Health reject this - They say that this is a this is an pre-existing condition...... Now my question is How can this be a pre-existing condition?? Doctors do not even know why this happens to people, they cannot explain this and why it happens, yes sometimes it comes and goes without any problems, however I have this covering my shoulder and according to Affinity Health, who will not pay a cent for my operation, say it is a pre-existing condition.....
I must say they are very very quick to take your money every month...... but when it actually comes down to you been sick or require treatment all they say is it is pre-existing..... When we signed up with them, I had not been to the doctor in 2 years and there was NOTHING wrong with me or my shoulder.....
So everyone Affinity Health do not care at all for people, they only care about how much money they can take, take and take from you.....
Find a better health care company and do not sign up with Affinity Health you will be making the biggest mistake in your life.......

so please explain why if I had this actual problem why in 10 years have I not seen a doctor? because if the shoulder was really that sore, do you not think I would have gone to see a doctor?????
I have been going to the same doctor for 10 years, and the medical billing history was actually sent to your people and if you look at it, the first time I went to the doctor about my shoulder and this condition was on the 15 May 2019, so I am asking you if I have such a "painful sore shoulder" would I have not seen the doctor sometime in 10 years or since 2011 (that is when I starting seeing the Dr), and please ask yourself - If my shoulder was pre-existing, this problem would have risen during the 10 years that I have been seeing the same doctor
If this is the pain level I am feeling now, don't you think somewhere in 10 years I would know that I have a major sore shoulder because I am sure this would have been the exact same pain and problem I would have had then?? ........ so please tell how can it be a pre-existing condition??
Calcific Tendinitis condition (is on the same level of pain as a broken shoulder, does your expert know this?) and is an extremely painful condition, your arm seizes up, you cannot lift it and it is very painful, so if i did have this pre-existing condition within the last 10 years or so surely it would only make sense that I would have go see a doctor about it, but since I have started visiting this doctor as from 2011, I have NEVER been to him for this condition, never, in fact I hardly go to the doctor (in 2 years i have seen him 2-3 times - and nothing for my shoulder),
So please tell me how is this pre-existing? How do you deduce this, How ???
Yes my shoulder has been sore, but not because of the "pre-existing condition" (something that Affinity Health loves to use to get out of actually helping and but quick to grab the money it seems)....

As per the aforementioned response, you confirm that the pain was present in your left shoulder for a number of years and therefore due to you having pain related to your condition prior to your inception date which deems the condition as pre-existing.
As previously advised, Clinical Review is based on Medical documentation provided and as a result according to your policy terms and conditions, pre-existing conditions holds a 12month waiting period.
