AFFINITY HEALTH

I am concerned that this practitioner may not be properly practising to expected dental standards and request verification of his registration status with the HPCSA. I visited Dr M Mataa (Tel: ***) for fillings on two teeth, but treatment was done on four teeth, which exhausted my annual benefit limit. The fillings appeared to be placed without the normal preparation I expected, and they fell out shortly after I left the practice. I returned a second time to have them corrected, but the same issue occurred again. I contacted Affinity Health to request the practitioner’s practice details and to dispute the claim and payment due to the quality of service received. I spoke to four claims department representatives but was unable to obtain the information. I am dissatisfied with both the treatment received and the assistance provided by Affinity Health.

AFFINITY HEALTH I AM STILL WAITING
I went to an affinity health network dentist and I literally sat in an office chair for the examination and he was all up in my mouth without wearing safety gloves or numbingthe area with novacaine. I went to him twice and twice the fillings fell out before I reached my home. I have spoken to affinity numerous times and it now seems they paid him for the 3 fillings one of which was not requested by me. The DRH Or DHR spoke to me in May and nothing came of it. Affinity informed me they paid the dentist after they explicitly said they only paying for one filling R800 because the dentist did not ask for authorisation and I was happy because I could go to another dentist. Only for Affinity to tell me they have to listen to both stories. Should a qualified dentist really have a story? Or is my teeth made of metal that the fillings just couldn't hold??. I asked his practice number which I was never furnished with. Affinity tells me go to the dentist and he is never here anymore. If this is not sorted out by close of business today I am escalating the matter to the South African Dental Association.

With this matter I have all the time in the world. I have 2 active cavities that needs attention and Affinity Health must tell me how they are going to remedy the situation.
