Affinity cant keep promises.
After joining them December 2018 I asked the Telemarketer Kyle except for my condition that will be a waiting period that there will be other waiting periods. he rep**** none. I joined Affinity Hospital Plan.
Last week my wife had problems and she made an appointment at the Doctor, he forwarded her to a gynaecologist she saw yesterday. The Specialist we paid ourself, we knew that we would.
The Specialist said my wife will have a booking for the 11th of March at the Hospital for a full hysterectomy. Well we said its ok a felt safe that we had a Hospital plan that will cover that, I phoned them today for the authorization. I was wrong. Affinity went against their promise with hogg wash excuse there is a 3 months waiting period. Then later it changed to the excuse my wife condition was pre excisting and the waiting period will be 12 months and authorization is denied.
So, let this be a Warning, do not believe anything these people of Affinity Health promise, they will make excuses. Want your money and no service. Please dont join them, their the worst Hospital plan yet.
I cancelled.
We thank you for raising your concerns with us.
Please be advised that an investigation has been conducted and we can confirm that at point of sale you were advised of the three month waiting period for the benefit that would have been applicable for your wife's procedure.
In good faith and transperancy, we sought to merely bring to your attention the possibility of the condition being deemed pre-existing if the medical documents provided were to confirm that signs and symptoms began before the policy commencement date, then the condition would have a 12 month waiting period.
Had the admission been queried for cover after the 3 month waiting period had passed, medical documents would have been required to determine the medical history of the condition, as a hysterectomy is generally required to treat symptoms that have been there for a long while.
Kind regards
