Affinity and Truth

Just a headsup for all clients :

So i have full medical affinity helath insurance (gold plus) and have been quite impress till recently

i hurt my need while starting to move my parents - just a short pain at time - think it was just a twist - nothing off it, then 4weeks later i moved their final stuff and when loading the trailer i hear i pop sounds and it hurts - so i then come back and next day see a doctor (paid cash) - he then puts me on meds for 5 days (paid cash) then go back the next week - said he is not happy and refer me to specialist within the hour (paid cash again)> Get to specialist - he is not happy and does x-rays (paid cash) - he is then not happy and refers me to Mri - this time i claimed from affinity and they were good - just paid in R1500. So now they ask me "have you had pain" and i truthfully answer - yes for about a month - from first time move. (by the way this is the problem). So in short tore my meniscus and need a op, which will cost 77k - and affinity will only pay 22k (one day hospital) because it is a old injury (because of the previous pain i mentioned) and i have to pay 55k. They have reviewed and keep to their story.

So in short - if i went to emergency room they would have covered it instead or trying the doctors first !

Also to mention if they don't do the repair it will result in a knee replacement in couple of years (wonder who will pay this)

So just closing - don;t ever be honest and say to much - it will cost you, in my case 55k !)
