AFD MAKELAARS - USELESS!

I was the victim of a home burglary in November 2023. I have been with AFD Makelaars since 2017. In the almost 7 years, I have not lodged a claim of a similar nature. I have always paid my monthly fee on time. When I lodged the claim for the break in with AFD Makelaars, I was informed that they would deal with everything. I had to follow up so many times, and eventually received feedback that my claim had been rejected. It was rejected based on the fact that I did not have an armed response linked to my alarm system. This was a condition of my policy. I had explained to them that I had cancelled the armed response during the Covid Shut down, and neglected to reconnect it, as I did not know it was a condition of my policy. To be blunt, they did absolutely F...-all to assist me with this matter. I was given the runaround and told that it was up to the Insurance company. Eventually, after jumping through all the hoops, I lodged a complaint with the NFO. There was no empathy from AFD Makelaars, and as stated above, no effort from them whatsoever to assist me with this matter. I therefore ask myself the question..."What have I been paying for for the last 7 years?" If you are considering using AFD Makelaars, I urge you to move on. They are more than willing to take your money, but will do nothing when the Sh...t hits the fan.
