Installing new DSTV Explora Dual View
I was forced to replace my current PVR dual view as DSTV / Multichoice has decided, all by them self that I need to replace my PVR at my expense. (seems the want to make even more profit). Here is my experience and please be very alert when you deal with DSTV / Multichoice and their dealers, in this case Aerial & Satellite Experience.
I have paid them a personal visit on Saturday ( 26/8) to confirm that I have a current PVR dual view and want to be in a very similar position once been upgraded. It was suggested offer 5 - an Explora 2 plus a HR decoder. I have asked more than once if there will be additional cost. Guess the answer... NO.
This morning I drop the old PVR at their premises and the 1st thing they haven't told you, it is going to take about an hour to swap around (excluding their famous waiting que.
The fun started when the technician arrived. I had to pay an additional R850 as all of a sudden I need a splitter box and whatever. This I had to pay to get going again. I am still without a proper dual view as I now need to buy another remote and this and that. Seems another R500 . with this cost and effort and inconvenience I could opted for the next option. Would be much easier for the family. Furthermore, I have to new contract. Really!
This is another example of not so clever people but arrogance. They don't know the product options at all. Be very careful when DSTV advertise on TV is all fun and games and smiles. It is a bit far fetch.
The only star in this story is the technician, Noel. Thank you meneer for assisting.
