Poor servIce by AEG
I broke the glass of a AEG hob but could not find the part from AEG. I was told it is not a stock item and had to be imported from Germany and that it would take 8 weeks. In desperation I bought a complete hob (last one in stock) from AEG. However, the new unit has only one plug leading to the oven compared to the old one, which has two. I called AEG and after 5 calls managed to get hold of the national service manager, i.e. Pieter Pretorius. I requested assistance to remove the glass top from the new unit to the old one. I offered to take both units to the AEG premises for assistance but was advised that they will only do so at a call out rate of R600! I do not find the offer fair and the national service managed was not sympathetic not very helpful at all. I regret buying a AEG appliance and will not do so ever again.
