I am left with the Waterbill

<p>Hi</p> <p>My name is Amanda and I purchased my parents home just over a year ago. I received a hefty waterbill just over a month ago and realised something must be wrong. I got my plumber friend to come in to check for leaks and he could not find any. We then asked him to check the roof as we could hear sounds of leaking water but could not detect it. He discovered that it was the geyser. This was on a Thursday. I went to my bank the following Saturday and they immediately actioned this by requesting LT Plumbing to come through to investigate. They pitched this same day only to inform me that it is a manufacturing fault as the geyser is leaking and rusty at various spots. They said they would inform Kwikot whom also pithced this Saturday to replace the geyser, I have pictures. Kwikot informed me that the leaking geyser was also not installed properly as the outlet pipe (there should be 2) is not leading outward. One should be copper and the other plastic & 22mm in diameter. The copper pipe is not leading outward but into the tray, only the plastic pipe leads outwards. We did not have overflow problems and would not have known about the leak but for the sound we were hearing. The geyser that was replaced now replaced a geyser Pro Plumb fitted in 2013 and was done so incorrectly. My parents did not know that the faulty geyser that was replaced in 2013 was leaking until their ceiling collapsed. However, the flow of water to the outlet should confirm a leak but it did not then as it did not now. Pro Plumb said they cannot be held responsible for part of my waterbill and said I should ask Kwikot for a letter to take to the council for a rebate which might not be granted. Kwikot has not responded to my e-mails either and did not hear from them. Pro Plumb is prepared to fix the piping on the replaced geyser but I did not want to action anything until I received my new waterbill which I received now. Please advise as to what I need to do or if you have any suggestions. Thank you.</p> <p> </p>
