AVOID AMP INSURANCE POLICY UNDERWRITTEN BY LOMBARD INSURANCE
AMP INSURANCE POLICY UNDERWRITTEN BY LOMBARD INSURANCE is totally a waste of time, i tell you now that if you are insured by them run away now.
So midyear around July 2019 my car ( VW Golf 7 tsi1.4) started jerking and an epc and engine light started showing. I took it to VW South Coast for for inspection and diagnosis and the report said that valve number 3 had a whole.
A few days later i was told that my claim has been rejected because they do not cover burnt/bend valves they only cover broken valves, I asked them how so because if i has a hole in it that means it is broken but i was told that "there is nothing we can do. okay i made peace with it.
Second case
Second time now the car does almost the same thing and took it to PMB VW and i launched a claim with them. i received a call from AMP saying that i must take my car to another place and when i get i must not tell them that i have a car warranty and that was strange and when asked why they said just in case we do not pay at least they will give a reasonable price, I took the car to ACS AutoWorx and the car was assessed and the report said "The vehicle was towed into our premises with the complaint of vehicle jerking while driving , engine light is on and smoking excessively. We then removed the spark plugs on the vehicle to find that the spark plugs are badly fouled up with oil. This indicated to me that the oil could be bypassing the piston rings and entering the combustion chambers. The cylinder head was removed to inspect further. We then found excessive play on the pistons in the cylinder block. Engineers had then measured the cylinder block bore for each cylinder . After measurement was done we found that the cylinder bore had 0.06 – 0.08mm ovality on each cylinder this was a clear indication the piston rings could not seal in the cylinder block" and after that they sent and assessor. mind you these is week three now moving back and fourth with these people everyday its a new thing or story. then they requested that a report from the engineers and the report came back saying the same thing and that all valves have to be changed. after calling them and emailing them everyday my claim was rejected again for the same thing,
Nun of the reports said anything about a burnt/bent valve.
My advice to everyone who reads this make the right decision before it is to late
