Advance Motor Protector (AMP) - Avoid them at all costs

In short, I’ve submitted a claim to have my vehicle’s rear wheel bearings replaced. My cover as per my policy is R6000. The repair came in at R5400. The insurer was only prepared to cover R2347 – less than half. They cited that my quotation was above industry average and they pay out market related prices. I would have accepted their stance if my quotation was more than my stipulated cover. They use Bosch Car Service labour rates. I decided to get a quote from Bosch and it came in at R4905. I then asked them to give me contact details of repairers who can fix the vehicle at that price. They rep**** “we are not allowed to do referrals”. They should amend their cover per category as they are misleading the public creating false expectations. There are many complaints on the internet about Advance Motor Protector. Research the complaints before accepting a policy from them. Customer reviews and other sources reveal that they are undoubtedly one of the most disliked organizations in South Africa. I will definitely not do business with AMP Warranties again or even recommend them to others. Avoid them at all costs!!!
