Advanced Cement/ Cutting Edge Cement Flooring ... RUN AWAY !!!!!

After my previous review ,writen 6 days ago, Advanced Cement/ Cutting Edge Cement Flooring tried to do some "damage control " and sugar coat their ****. The following is the series of events happened. Read it and decide for yourself if you want to contact this company ever . Series of events: · 6th January or so I sent a request for screed floors to Advance Cement, though their website. · 9th January I received a first quote from Decorative Cement Flooring (subcontractor for Advanced Cement? ) .That first quote had my name but the work quoted was wrong ( garage floor) · 10th January .I sent an email requesting clarification for that mistake in the work quoted. · 10th January .One hour later I received what seamed to be the “right quote” · 14th January .A person called Chris did a site visit to adjust quote and bring samples. The samples did not have the color we wanted .He promised to come back with the right samples by Monday 16th January. · 14th January .I received later on a quote (slightly less than previous one) · 16th January. Chris did not come with new samples. He did not contact me. · 17th January I did the payment of 55 % .I sent proof of payment by email and requested confirmation of the day to start and bring the samples. · 19 th January. Christ email me acknowledging payment .He said work will start on the 30th Jan and he will contact me on Monday, the 23rd Jan to bring samples. · 30th January .I emailed Chris asking him what was happening since I did not receive any further contact and the job did not started this day. · 31st January. Madeleine Gouws (apparently his girlfriend) sent me an email saying Chris had an accident on site two days ago and he was in hospital. She assured me Christ will contact me son to start the job that Thursday 2Nd February. · 2nd February. Email from Madeleine Gouws. She explained Chris was discharged from Hospital this day and he will contact me to start work on Friday. · 3rd February. Christ came at 11 hrs to work for the first time at my home. Two other guys were doing the work with him. They ********** the carpets in 2 bedrooms and used a little bit of cement to cover just part of many cracks on the cement the floor has underneath .By 14.30 hrs they leave already. Chris said they will come back Sat and Sunday (the following two days). · 6th of February .I sent an email asking what was happening. Chris and his people disappeared and left my house in a mess. Bedrooms were upside down .Not possible to use them! I was also sending text messages every day and there was no answer at all! MY family and I were “camping” in the living room. · 6 th February .I resent the same email two more times throughout the day .No answer. · 7th February evening. I was unsure which company Chris was subcontractor for .I could not remember. I decided to contact all the companies I did contact the first time, to make the first enquire and I did. I went though internet and one by one I sent the same message saying that the contractor disappear and requesting any possible help. The last company I found on Internet rang a bell to me and then, coming back to the quote I did realize that was “the one “ I was looking for: Advanced Cement. All the other companies, without failing, contacted me back. Some of them to say they were sorry but did not know that guy. Some others offering some help to solve my problem. They were all disgusted at the situation and concerned about the bad reputation for their industry. THE ONLY COMPANY THAT DID NOT AKNOWLEGE MY EMAIL AND DID NOT REPLY WAS ADVANCED CEMENT. · 8 th February. Email from Madelein Gouws .She said Chris was in hospital again and that she will keep me updated. · 8th February .I sent email requesting them to give the job to somebody who could do it .By then my family and I were sleeping in the living room for 6 days ! · 8th February I resent the same email once more. There was no answer. During that week of 3rd and 8th I was sending text messages to the cell phone I did have but I could not get an answer either. · 8 th February. I phoned Advanced cement (Jhb) to the land line that appear in their website .A lady answered me. She was really harsh and annoyed with me. She said the Chris she knew was in Cape town since two years ago! Then she said she will look at my email (the one that I sent to each company) and will come back to me. She never did. · 9th February. I resent the email to Advanced Cement. They did not come back to me. · 9th February I did phone Advanced Cement. This time to the Cell phone number that is displayed in the website (Johannesburg) .A person called Rulof . He said he was the chairperson of the company. I explained his the situation. He admitted he knew about it because of he received my email Firstly he tried to defend himself saying they were only selling the product. Later on he admitted knowing this “Chris and promised me to phone him to find out what was happening. · 10th February .Chris came to site to bring new samples .They were wrong again .He promised to make new samples and come to do the job the following Monday (13th February) . · 13th February .Chris called me early in the morning saying he was delayed with the samples for me .He reassured me that they were coming to work that day ,just a bit later . THEY NEVER COME BACK AGAIN. HE DID NOT ANSWER HIS PHONE. · 23rd February .I received an email from another person that fall victim of the same situation. They started the job towards end of Jan and up to this day they disappeared. · 23rd February .I sent an email requesting Chris to contact me urgently. He did not. · 24 th February. I wrote a review in HELLO PETER, Advanced Cement Fb Page and reposted it in my page. · 27th February. I received an email from Chris. Without any explanation he just said hes phone will be on again on Monday .He mentioned he will resume the work Wednesday or Thursday . · 27th February. I sent an email requesting him to pay the deposit back to me. · 28th February. Christ sent an email saying he will contact me that day at noon .He did not. · 02 nd March. I received an Email from Christ saying He wants to contact me to finish the job. · 02 nd March . I sent an email explaining that I just wanted my deposit back. · 02nd March. Christ wrote an email saying that to return me my deposit he will come tomorrow to site to take few things he left and assess the problem. · 02nd March .I wrote an email explaining that after I receive proof of payment of my deposit into my account we will arrange when he may come. · 02nd March. Chris sent me another email .He literally said …”Sorry but that will be impossible as i first have to get money back on material. up to you. Regards. Nice ,very ,very nice !
