Poor Cancellation

I have been trying to cancel my subscriptions for a very long time now. I subscribed month to month (in order to cancel if I no longer need it). However every time I try to cancel I have to pay 1000's of rands which is ridiculous. This is going on for more than a year. How do I get out of this?
