Guardrisk will replace your device if you almost had a near-death encounter.

My phone was ****** at home while there was a cleansing ceremony after my fathers funeral the previous day, apparently guard risk will not cover your phone if it was ****** in your home by someone while charging. So if you are charging it then you are supposed to stare at it until the battery is full. They claim to cover theft,loss and damage but exclude themselves if the loss is in the office, home, in the car. There needs to be forceful entry. When you take the policy the call center agent will not tell you this,it will only come up when you need to claim. I have been paying R320 per month for the insurance but when I am in trouble then they can't help. I guess I need to have the phone grabbed from my ear in the street for them to pay out my claim, and I can deal with the trauma afterwards. Funny part is that they kept asking where the phone was as if they needed to make sure that if I was still intact then my claim would not be approved.
