Two pairs of F50+ boots. Both broke on the first game. Case closed — unacceptable
I purchased Adidas F50+ Firm Ground Boots for my son (Order AZA***0). The studs broke off on his very first game. He was in tears. Adidas refunded me — I gave them the benefit of the doubt and used that refund to buy a second pair (Order AZA***0, R3,249.00), along with the FIFA World Cup 26™ ball (R2,799.00) — because I still believed in the brand. The second pair broke in exactly the same way. First game. Again. When I contacted Adidas, they first said they could help, then told me the warranty had expired, and finally responded with "the case is closed." R3,249.00 for boots that cannot survive a single game. Two pairs. Two failures. One very disappointed little boy. And a closed case. I have since filed formal complaints with the CGSO and the NCC under the Consumer Protection Act. Adidas's internal warranty policy does not override my statutory rights as a South African consumer. I am requesting a full refund of R3,249.00 and some acknowledgment of the distress caused to my son, who has been let down by this brand twice.
