Hole in Shoes After Only 2 Months Post-Purchase

I purchased shoes for my husband and myself on 22 December 2016. After much searching for the perfect shoe for my weekly Parkruns and speaking to a consultant at Totalsports, I'd settled for 2 pairs of Adidas Cloudfoam Ortholite running shoes for the both of us. After not even 2 months, I noticed that the material on the left shoe, where my big toe goes, was starting to fray a bit (trust me, the shoes fit perfectly). Since there is no support there on the shoe, I was assured that it was made with strong material to prevent fraying or damage. Not the case. The next time I put my shoes on, there was a hole in the left shoe.

Years ago, I had purchased a pair of New Balance running shoes and had done practically everything in them - from road and trail running, to exercise and even a Warrior Race, and after all these years, those shoes are still in great condition. My husband is a supporter of Adidas and I had been convinced to become part of Team Adidas, so I had purchased the abovementioned shoes. It's just disappointing to know that after not even 2 months, there is a hole in my left shoe and it's not like these shoes are cheap - in fact, they were much more expensive than my New Balance shoes! My husband's shoes are also starting to fray in the front and all we've done with these shoes is run and exercise. So much for endurance Adidas! Comfort wise, the shoes are excellent, but it doesn't help that I walk around with shoes that look like they're years old because they're starting to get holes in them, when I've only had them for 2 months! I'm past the 30 day return policy, but then shoes such as these should not be manufactured and sold if they have no sturdiness or endurance at all! Perhaps they need a bit more support in the front like the rest of the Adidas range. Why did I buy these specific ones you might ask? Because I was assured that those were the best for running anywhere and with its cloudfoam technology, it would feel like I'm running on air. Well, that part is true, As for the rest... I ask again, what now Adidas?! Super disappointed in the quality of shoes from such a great competitor!!!

Thank you for your response Candice. I wasn't sure how this would be handled, since it had been more than 30 days after I purchased the shoes at Totalsports, but you have turned a bad experience into a great one.
I returned the shoes to Totalsports and they handled the matter efficiently (although I do think the staff need more training on the different types of shoes there, but that's another issue on its own). Unfortunately, as much as I loved those shoes because of its comfort and the ease with which I can run with them (I have tested this in comparison with my older shoes, so quality is definitely going for Adidas there), I was afraid to replace them with the same shoe in case the same thing happens. Totalsports is lacking in variety, so what I opted to go for did require me to pay in the difference (I didn't see anything in the same price range). Nevertheless, time will tell how this pair fairs...
Owing to the way in which I was treated as an Adidas customer, I elected to remain with this brand and I am now the recipient of a hole-free pair of Adidas shoes for my next Parkrun! Thank you again!
