Funny story... wearing my ultra comfortable new Adidas Lite Rides makes me cool?

I bought these shoes because my other grey shoes had worn out. I realize how boring that makes me sound and I'll own it. One day, I went to work in my old shoes, and my Gen Z ***orker said, "Haha, you're wearing grandma shoes." I laughed at his leopard print puffy jacket, and I think we both think we won that exchange. But then I went to pick up the kids from Gran's house... and she was wearing the same shoes. This was not the reason I decided to buy new shoes. I am impervious to scrutiny.

I'll repeat, my old grey shoes had finally worn out. So I went on takealot and searched for grey comfortable shoes, and these are what came up. These were very confusing to me. I'm not wearing grey shoes to get noticed. I'm not some trollop wearing fire-engine red converse trying to make a scene. I'm a working man. Eyes up here ladies or fellas. Get your mind out of the gutter so I can walk in it. When I bought these shoes, I thought I was buying the next available pair of grey shoes, but I went into work the other day and my ***orker said, "Nice shoes.". I told him, "Nice man-bun", and he said, "No I'm serious," but it was pretty clear that I wasn't so now my office time is awkward.

But apparently, these are pretty cool shoes.
