Falsey accused of *****ing!

On the 13th of June 2023 (Tuesday afternoon) I was shopping for a pair of Samba sneakers that were on sale at Adidas outlet in Cornubia, Durban, KZN. I was approached by a sales assistant named Andile Gumede and I let him know that I had been looking for the shoe for a while now and he said they don’t have size 5 in stock but there was a 4.5 that was put aside for a customer so he went to go check for me. He came back with the shoe but unfortunately it did not fit and I thanked him for his efforts. He asked for my contact details so he could possibly let me know if they ever received Sambas in my size and I was more than happy to leave my name and number.

When I got home he introduced himself and asked me to send him pictures of myself, which I thought was very odd so I just told him to check them out on my Instagram page and texted him my handle. We communicated here and there on Whatsapp but I noticed he had disappearing messages.

Two days later, on the 15th of June he called me at 8am to accuse me of *****ing the Adidas store iPad! Woke me up, demanding me to return it or he might lose his job. I have never felt so awful for something I did not do! He was sure I did and made me feel guilty for something I know nothing about! I then took it upon myself to call the store to speak to the manager and he confirmed Andile was seen leaving the iPad in my Woolies trolley and I walked out the store with it. I did not see any iPad in my trolley!

I then told the manager that they must contact their IT department and get them to track the iPad using Find My iPad. I then asked the manager if I must come to the store so they can show me the footage and he said there was no need. Since that conversation over the phone, Andile and the manager have made no contact whatsoever. I told them to call me if they needed my assistance in retrieving the device because I was very sure I did not ***** their ****** iPad. It has been weeks. No update. No apology. No clarification.

I feel so humiliated and the thought of ever going to cornubia is unbearable. I don't trust the Adidas staff as it seems as if I was an easy target to blame for their own negligence and lack of care! Who knows... maybe this Andile's very own plan to ***** the iPad himself was successful! I am infuriated that a huge establishment like Adidas would ignore all business ethics and form of consumer rights to go out of their way and strip me off my dignity as an Adidas customer. I am appalled by their service and wouldn't wish that experience on any human!

Don't go to Adidas Cornubia. They might set you up for kidnapping an employee!!!
