Adidas South Africa Printing Services

Good Day

I am aggrieved and disappointed with the customer service from Adidas SA.

I recently bought a Manchester United player edition jersey for my husbands birthday, purchased by my me on my Totalsports account.

As the shirt does not have any numbering I approached the Adidas store in Umgeni Road to have the official lettering printed onto the shirt.

I was turned away and told I could not have the numbering done as the shirt was not bought at the Adidas store. I was instructed me to take the shirt back to Totalsports and get it printed there.

I fail to understand the polices around printing. The shirt is in fact an official Adidas product purchased from a third party provider which infact keeps and stocks their authentic merchandise. Why is it that customers are not allowed to bring in shirts and do the printing at an official Adidas store.

Totalsports unfortunately does not have the official English Premier League numbering which is why I approached Adidas which whom you would still pay for this service.

I am disgusted by the customer service and poor attitude of your staff and online platform . The fact that we as customers come into their store and pay for this service should suffice , as we are still supporting Adidas through a third party provider.

Adidas has responded claiming that this is to control product integrity and quality control. Surely this should not be an issue if you are selling an authentic product to a third party provider. How does it make sense to purchase the same product whether it be from a third party which is verified in South Africa as a sporting provider or Adidas but still to claim product quality and integrity.

I feel it is a matter which needs to be viewed and questioned as it is unfair to provide such a service but not cater everybody. It has forced me to question the auntethnicty of the product being sold to the third party as they will not do any printing on the shirt. Further more how will they verify which shirts are purchased at Adidas or Toralsports also if they are gifts.
