Adidas Refused Support for Faulty Spikes – No Accountability, No Goodwill
As an elite sprinter, I rely on precision gear. I purchased Adidas spikes expecting durability and performance. After just 8 months, they tore—despite limited use. These weren’t daily trainers. They were worn selectively, only for sprint sessions and race prep. I would understand if this was wear and tear from everyday use, but that’s not the case.
When I contacted Adidas, I was told the issue fell outside their 6-month window—so they could do nothing. No exception. No goodwill. No recognition of the fact that the spikes were clearly defective and not abused.
This response is unacceptable from a brand that claims to support athletes. I wasn’t asking for a handout—I was asking for accountability. Instead, I got a generic policy response and zero effort to resolve the issue.
I’ve had better service from small local retailers who actually care. Adidas talks about performance and innovation, but when gear fails, they vanish. If you can’t stand behind your products, you don’t deserve athlete loyalty.
Unless Adidas steps up and makes this right, I’ll be taking my business—and my recommendations—elsewhere. Fellow athletes and resellers deserve to know how little support they’ll get when things go wrong.
