Adidas Defective Item Online return and exchange policy
I recently ordered an item from Adidas on a Black Friday special, where the items were marked as 50% off. Upon receipt of the items, the items were obviously defective (extremely faded colour way, likely caused by mold by sitting on the shelves for a long period)
Although adidas promises only quality across all of their items, there is no online exchange system for online purchases. Therefore, if an item was purchased online for a discount, the customer is forced to either accept a refund for this item, or keep the item. This means that the special is rendered null and void, as if you would then like to obtain a non-defective item, you have to contribute extra to obtain the full amount.
Adidas is therefore using online specials, and then online policies as a means to get rid of defective items which are not selling, with some customers probably choosing to keep the defective item because of this policy, and essentially cutting their losses. This is disgusting practice, with zero regard for the customer.
I would advise any and all to think twice before purchasing an item on a “discount” from the adidas online store, as if your item is defective, you will lose out on this “discount” or have to keep a defective item.
