Misuse of power to gain financially
I recently moved out of my apartment to move closer to work. On 03 March 2019 I emailed Adept to say that I would like to cancel my monthly subscription with immediate effect and explained that I am moving closer to where I work and that is why I need to cancel my subscription.
Response from Adept was that I cannot cancel my contract with immediate effect and that I need to provide them with one calendar month notice of cancellation (which makes sense). To this my response was that it is quite unfortunate, but understandable, for me to cancel my subscription and still have to pay for a service that I am not using.
The terrible thing is that because I notified them on the 3rd of March I had to pay for the full month of March after which my “one calendar month notice” would only start from the 1st of April. So now I am paying for 58 days (two months) and getting nothing for it. The second month (April) payment is painful and seems very unfair for them to legally bully their clients this way.
What about the new tenant, is he paying for internet, does he even have access, surely he is left in an unfortunate situation as well?
