ADCARE ADMISSION FEE REFUND REFUSED. ADCARE /AD-DONT CARE?

<p>ADCARE Boschkop is a Home for the aged, Alzheimer and Dementia patients. Our 86 year old Mother developed Alzheimers and it became increasingly difficult to care for her at home. After consulting with Waldo du Toit of ADCARE and Hannetjie of Boschkop ADCARE, we decided to put her in Boschkop ADCARE. <br />We paid an Admission fee of R7980 on 21 Nov 2016 for admittance on 1 Des 2016 and took my Mother for a visit to see the facility. It was a rainy day and all the patients were sitting in the dining room on upright chairs as there is no lounge. We then understood that patients may not stay in their rooms - it is easier to look after a group than individuals. My 86 year old Mother cant be expected to sit on a dining room chair for a long period. We talked to Hannetjie and she was very understanding and said a refund wont be a problem. We cancelled on 25 Nov 2016. We never even signed a contact and she was never admitted. We contacted Waldo for the refund and he flatly refused at first, then said he would talk to Suzette Botha. He never came back to us and didnt answer calls or emails. We sent a letter to the Company and Suzette threatened us with legal action if we go public with the matter. She promised to come back to us after consulting with their attorney on 4"Jan 2017. No reaction yet. We feel that they stole my Moms money and should not get away with it. They have contravened the older person act ( No 13 of 2006)</p>
