Good day,
I refer to our telephonic conversation.
As explained that you app**** for debt review on 10/11/2015 and the Form 17.1 was sent to all creditors including Standard Bank on 13/11/2015. We do request in the form 17.1 that the creditors stop all debit orders on the account, unfortunately we cannot control the creditors and if they do not give their co-operation to stop the debit order then it is beyond our control as we have done everything that was required.
It is important that the consumer cancel all debit orders of credit providers included in their review, close their current bank account and open a new savings account and then provide you with the new banking details within 7 days of date of the consultation letter, this is to prevent money grabbing by the creditors. Remember that according to the credit agreements the creditor has a right to apply set-off and deduct funds from their account if any of their credit agreements with the creditor is in arrears.
You confirmed that you personally went to Standard Bank enquiries and cancelled all debit orders whereby you received feedback that the debit orders would not be deducted.
...to be continued..
