Fibre account mismanagement
On 19 December 2022 I sent an email to accounts that I'd like to cancel my fibre subscription, with January being the 1(one) calendar months notice. According to Active Fibre's terms and conditions a Calendar month is defined as follows: “Calendar Month” means any one of the 12 (twelve) months in the year according to the Gregorian calendar, from the first day to the last day of the respective month;
I got a response from Patience Nhlapo informing me in ambiguous terms that they *CAN* release my fibre line on the 19th of January 2023. To which I have neither asked for nor confirmed.
Cut forward to the 20th of January, my subscription has been cancelled, despite having paid the full subscription for the month of January 2023, further more, I am unable to sign up to another ISP because Active Fibre have not released my fibre line.
When I called Active Fibre to ask why my subscription was cancelled prematurely, Patience proceeded to argue with my about why I didn't correct her. And eventually concedes that there nothing she can do besides escalate this issue to her manager who wasn't around at the time. I've been promised a call back which has not materialized and when I call Active Fibre I get redirected to a line that goes unanswered.
This mismanagement of my subscription with them is very displeasing and now I have to spend at least 2 days without a fibre service I've paid for.
After this experience I would never recommend Active Fibre to anyone, clearly their Month-To-Month agreements are a ****, if you try to leave they cancel your subscription and hold your fibre line hostage.
