Mr Anro Dias is an extraordinary manipulator, who plays on the emotions of trusting members of the public: o He purports to be a Christian. o He tells stories of his newborn baby son and his other children. • Anro Dias *****s the information of a company, then ******s the same company, using their own information against them. He also uses the names of high-ranking SAPS officials and HAWKS’ members for the same advantage. • We are convinced that Anro Dias has been committing this type of crime for the last couple of years. Mr Dias manipulates his victims and moves them to trust him, pay him and hand over expensive electronic ware (cell phones, laptops, etc.) and even motor vehicles. • Mr Dias sells these devices for cash. • He has also taken motor vehicles as a deposit from his clients. • In one scenario, he persuaded a client to buy an Audi. • The client soon realised that the vehicle was not registered in her name but in the name of Anro Dias. • Mr Dias went even further and took cell phones and laptops from this client. • The total loss suffered by this unsuspecting client is in the region of R150,000.00. He promises extraordinary services and solutions that he can render with regard to digital and electronic investigation. He delivers none on any of the promises.
