Unhandled complaints by ACSA and its claim department

I was boarding a plane from King Shaka Airport on the 7th April 2017 when I took a fall on the wet stairs leading to the plane. The plane I was about to board was a Flysafair plane which was scheduled to depart at 8:50 and I boarded at 8:20. I was wearing jeans, carrying my black laptop bag. As I was going down the stairs which were wet from the previous night’s rain I took a fall and injured my left arm from the shoulder. This happened at 8:25 and there was no signage indicating that the floors were wet and that alone is a serious health hazard. The cabin crew staff and the passengers who were behind me came to assist me getting up and calmed me apologizing for the accident which left me in excruciating pain with wet jeans for my entire flight which was yet another inconvenience. I had to travel with wet jeans and a painful arm, without pain tablets as the cabin crew staff told me they didn’t have on the flight.

On landing at O.R Tambo airport I was assisted with my luggage and went to report this incident at the Flysafair ticket sales office but was referred to ACSA. The Flysafair consultant then called ACSA with regards to this matter and was told that I should report this in writing which I could not do immediately as a result of not having mobility of my left arm resulting from the fall. I then consulted a General doctor who then referred me to Parklands hospital for Xrays the same day. I must say this incident left me stranded. I couldn’t even drive myself for the entire week, nor bath myself. I’m a single parent and my 14year old daughter had to bath me and do almost all the c****s. I had to hire someone to drive me around and drive my kids to their activities. This is truly unacceptable and I wouldn’t wish it to happen to anyone else. This matter was reported to ACSA in April 2017 and no positive response up until this year 2021. I spoke to Marlene Kock and Buhle Mnguni who have continuously ignored my mails to date. The above mentioned people are the ones who gave me case number as KIA289AL-***6.
