Taking off jacket at Security point for no reason

Domestic departure gate is a nightmare to go through Security point . I swear we will be asked to get naked when passing through the gates. I was wearing a light long blue jacket that I was asked to take out after passing Security and the reason was that it is heavy . I don't understand why as a woman I should be asked to take off my clothes at the Security check point when I did not beep. This is ignorance and embarrassing at the same time
