rules are meant for everyone

I can understand the need for enforcing the new rule of only allowing one bag as personal hand luggage aboard the aircraft. However, when you only apply this to half of the people boarding, then I have a problem. I was forced to turn back and book in a small suitcase (the other being a laptop bag). If I had put my laptop in my suitcase, I probably would not have been stopped. Irrelevant though. It irks me at no end that certain people are allowed to pass, others not. So what are you going to do to ensure that this rule is app**** to all? If I see this happening again, I am definitely not going to let it go!!

Hello SKKJ,

Thank you for contacting Airports Company South Africa Customer Care.

We thank you for your feedback on your experience regarding the hand luggage regulations.

Certain of the airlines have different regulations and if a passenger app**** for special permission ahead of time, the Airline would have placed a special tag on their hand baggage.

Airlines such as SAA allow 8kgs. The dimensions of the bag needs to be within the following dimensions 56cm x 36cm x 23cm.

We will be in touch with you to further establish which Airline you traveled with.

Best Regards,
Customer Care.
