Rude and indecent treatment
I travel often. I always take my tennis racquet with me as hand luggage - it is a “valuable item”! Check-in officials will always ask if you have valuable items in your checked luggage, hence I’ve always kept my racquet in my backpack I keep with me as hand luggage. Today is the first time in all my travels that the airport official at the check through gate told me I am not allowed to have my racquet with my hand luggage. I of course asked why, and explained that due to the valuable nature of a racquet, I’ve always carried it with me on board and have literally NEVER had an issue. He was extremely rude and said I have to go back. I asked to speak to his supervisor, because even if things have changed and I need to go back, the airport official did not need to be that rude. Well, was that a mistake! The supervisor was even more rude, talking to me in an extremely rude and dismissive manner, waving his hands at me as if I’m a prisoner or an unruly child that has no right to common courtesy or being talked to in a decent manner or treated like a human being. In my life have I never been treated so poorly by airport officials abusing their position and being unnecessary and extremely rude! It is unacceptable and unnecessary. If I was wrong and not allowed to take an item with me that I have always been allowed to, sure - tell me that in a decent manner without making me feel incredibly belittled. Acsa, you need to teach your staff BASIC MANNERS and how to treat people with common decency!!
