Regular breakdown of exit booms at airport

I am a regular traveller and can confirm that on 3 separate occasions while trying to exit the parking at OR Tambo the booms have packed up causing massive back ups in the parking area. On all of those occasions help was non existent for the most part and slow with a bad attitude at best. On the last occasion I called the airports company while sitting in the logjam of cars and expressed my dissatisfaction at the situation with all sorts of promises to attend to the problem and to escalate this regularly occurring failure in service to executive management. You can imagine my surprise then to find a family trapped in the boom exit area on Wednesday evening with nobody answering the intercom from the boom area. This is shocking, third rate service from one of the most expensive airports in the world in terms of what they charge. In addition at the bottom of the exit ramps there has been a pot hole in the road for many months with nothing being done about that. All in all ACSA is a very expensive embarrassment to fare paying customers and I shudder to think what our visitors think when experiencing this level of service at the start of their journey!
