On the 9th of October 2015 I arrived from Cape Town. Upon arrival at the parking station I attempted to pay for parking with my debit card. I did not have ready cash and was not aware at the time that a debit card could not be used. When I asked for assistance I was asked to insert my bank card into the same slot as the parking ticket. When payment still could not be made I was only then asked if the card was a credit card. Since it was not I was asked to cancel the transaction. When I did, the machine returned my parking ticket but not my bank card. When I asked for assistance again I was told that it was impossible for the card to have 'swallowed' my bank card and that I should check for the card in my handbag. I had to asked for assistance several times before I was offered help to retrieve the card. When I asked to see the manager I waited for 20 minutes for him to arrive and even then it was in the form of assistant manager Elvis Gumede who apologized for the incident and vowed to perform an investigation when I demanded an explanation. He took my details and I have yet to receive communication from him. The details he gave to me to contact him are incorrect. Unacceptable!
