This morning I parked my car in the underground parking at O R Tambo, not realizing that I was parking in a no parking zone. When I came back the car had been towed away. The bay had very poorly indicated no parking signs on a pair of doors not on the floor. The bay was not one very close to the lifts and it was not like I was trying to park in a disabled bay etc. I also do not make a habit of parking *******ly. <br> <br> The staff at ACSA where one pays to have your car released were absolutely not interested in hearing my side of the story. \If you want your car pay R750 or else go away". <br> <br> This is a blatant way of fleecing visitors on top of the exorbitant parking fees (400 % higher than parking in Hyde Park shopping centre)<br> """

However, please note that parking signage is strategically placed to ensure maximum visibility and ensure passengers are made aware of areas they are not permitted to par. Parking management has a very strict policy when it comes to restricted parking bays as it may be blocking access to crucial workstations or may pose a danger to other motorists. We can therefore assure you that our intentions are not to trap or deceive passengers who make use of our airport parking facilities.
Please be aware that the parking rates at the airport vary depending on the parking area, we have rates as cheap as R10 an hours and some that are R30 an hour. You are welcome to contact our parking management for more information regarding the different parking areas with their respective rates. ***
