I requested to have my luggage as a carry on upon departure and was denied, with the remark "Qatar airlines does not throw bags" I unfortunately had to check in my bags. I landed at about 09h22 this morning at OR Thambo international airport from Zagreb via Doha. Picked up my luggage from the carrousel and noticed it was damaged. I immediately reported my damaged brand new luggage to Qatar airways staff. I filled in forms and pictures of the damaged luggage were taken and my flight details. To my surprise, no case, reference number. One of the staff Thato Rakitla remarked that it won't be compensated for prior to escalating it to the airline . Damaged luggage by this airline needs to repaired or replaced.
