Beware if you use OR Tambo Parking.co.za (Pty) Ltd *** Tel *** / *** / ***

I normally don’t use Facebook to settle issues, but I think this is most probably the best forum to share my experience with my friends and public. I have requested feedback from the above company, after I provided them with documentary proof on the 30 September 2019, which they acknowledged and escalated to “management” but to date, I have not received any explanation, apology or feedback.

If I travel from OR Tambo I normally use a “parking” service, as it is cheaper and more convenient. In this case I booked with OR Tambo Parking for my trip leaving OR Tambo on the 23 September 2019 and returning on 28 September 2109 (the return date was changed, although it doesn’t affect any issue I have with the above company).

I dropped of my car on the 23 September 2019, following the process as required by OR Tambo Parking (Pty) Ltd, and collected it again on the 29 September 2019. On my return I checked my vehicle’s trip logs, which are provided by a well known and reputable tracking company, and the following was noticed:

1. My car was used without my permission from the storage* facility to the airport and back. I would assume that these trips were either to collect a driver or to take the driver to collect a car at the airport. Obviously, no permission was given for this.

2. My car was moved on various occasions at the storage facility

3. I also noted that my car was switched on and stationary at the same spot for lengthy times. I also noticed that the cars heater was turned to max temp at full blast, something that you cannot do by mistake. Checking the time of this, and the history of the temperature in Gauteng, I can only assume that my car was used to keep someone, who had access to my car, warm (and at the same time using my fuel).

* On the parking facility, it is advertised as safe undercover parking. From the log that I have received, it seems that my car was parked in a public street during the day and only moved at night to a parking area. I doubt if it was undercover. Again, one would assume that your car is securely parked in safe storage facility, and not outside in a public street.

Based on my experience with the above company, which I will obviously never use again, I would urge you to check your vehicle tracking, specifically if you use/have used OR Tambo Parking (Pty) Ltd .
