Hi<br> <br> My girlfriend flew on a mango flight yesterday. after getting home we noticed the zip locks had been cut off and her hole bag had been rifled through. She has checked the bag and has noticed a Pearl pendent missing. These where not cheap and where a gift to her. I demand that you reimburse her for the loss. There was no reason for you to open the bag without her present and as per the law this is an ******* action cried out by ACSA. If we do not get a response today I will have to take action and report this to the press and other media outlets as well as seek legal advice.

It is with regret that we note the incidents of theft from your luggage. Airports Company South Africa's core responsibility is the facilitation of passengers through the airport as well as infrastructure provision. It is regrettable that baggage pilferage happens at all and it is something we take very seriously as a community (airport authority, airlines, ground handling companies, the police etc.). It is also something that we work on continuously with all stakeholders.
Under an Airport Security Programme (ASP), which is in line with civil aviation authority (CAA) regulations, in order for an airline to operate at our airports, they need to conform to the CAA approved ASP in the following regard;
-Legal Authority: The authority for security control of hold baggage is the responsibility of relevant airline on which aircraft passengers and their hold baggage are traveling.
-Protection of Hold Baggage: This is an airline responsibility and procedures are detailed in the air carrier's security program
Please report this to the airline for claim handling, in line with their conditions of carriage.
