Airports Company - baggage handling and theft

Case 1. After traveling from the US for almost 2 days we were scheduled to land in George on an Airlink flight that was diverted back to Johannesburg from George I left my iPad on the plane. I contacted Airlink Baggage handling and they were unable to retrieve the iPad from what appeared to be ACSA or similar area. I tracked the iPad on "find my device" app and it remained in the airport building at ACSA offices (cleaning area I assume) and despite numerous request to Airlink Baggage to please go and retrieve it for me they were told by the cleaners they found nothing like it. My iPad remained in the same place from Monday night to Thursday morning when it was moved to a second hand computer store in Kempton Park. How it got passed security and left the airport is a mystery. I tracked the iPads location continually which then went form the store to a house in Kempton Park. On Saturday morning I sent someone to the house and he managed to get the iPad back after numerous threats about the "police being on their way". It's disgraceful how this is allowed to happen and nobody seems to care. Case 2. On the same flight as above (case1) My one suitcase was also smashed and the lock was broken to gain access to the bag. There were no valuables in the suitcase except for clothing but someone managed to reached in a grab a pair of Jeans as a "gift". The baggage handling at ORT is a crime hotspot and need investigating as it must be so harmful to tourism in our country.
